Sensing, interpretation and integration of events, behaviours and environmental states are key to the success of such ubiquitous systems. Over the past two decades, there has been a constant shift of sensor observation modeling, representation, interpretation and usage, namely from low-level raw observation data and their direct/hardwired usage, data aggregation and fusion, to high-level formal context modeling and context-based computing. It is envisioned that this trend will continue towards a further higher level of abstraction, allowing situation, activity and goal modeling, representation and inference, thus realizing the vision of ubiquitous computing. This workshop intends to bring together researchers and practitioners from relevant fields to present and disseminate the latest accomplished and/or ongoing research on Situation, Activity and Goal Awareness (SAGAware) and their novel application in ubiquitous computing. It aims to facilitate knowledge transfer and synergy, bridge gaps between different research communities/groups, lay down foundation for common purposes, and help identify opportunities and challenges for interested researchers and technology and system developers. ***** Topics ***** Workshop topics include, but are not limited to: Approaches, methodologies, methods and theoretical foundation ? Context and situation modelling, representation and inference ? Goal and activity modelling, representation and recognition ? Behaviour analysis, change detection and pattern recognition ? Group and social activity modelling and recognition ? Approaches and open architecture for SAGAware systems Technologies, mechanisms, tools and middleware ? Ambient and smartphone/wearable sensing, sensor networks ? Technology infrastructure and middleware ? Data management, big data and cloud based processing ? Multi-modal interaction and intelligent interfaces ? Personalisation and adaptation System, application, case studies and evaluation ? Real world application design, implementation and deployment ? Smart cities, smart cyber physical systems **** Submission & Publication **** Interested authors can submit Full Technical Papers with maximum 6 pages or Short Position Papers, mainly ˇ°work in progressˇ± with maximum 4 pages. All submissions should follow the IEEE CS format which can be found in UIC2015 submission page. Accepted papers must be presented at the workshop and will appear in the proceedings of the UIC2015 conference by IEEE Computer Society.
